A little twist and trying

By looking at this photo which is the header of Alexis' blog page,

I tried to recreate the bubbles scene with Paint.NET. But slowly it turned into something else . It's all good in the end though. Here are how the transformation
Added 3 new layers, on each layer draw different sizes of circles with a colour.
Selected all same colour line circles of a layer, select the area inside the circles, open a new layer. Pick 2 colours at the new layer filling the area with Gradient tool. Repeated the same process to the other 2 sets of circles.
Was testing the result by filling the bakcground with gradient tool again.
Unchecked the 3 outlined circles layers (can deleted these 3 no use layers), change the background to dark colour. Marged 3 coloured circles layers together. Flipped that layer horizontally, then flipped it vertically. Colour Zoom Blur then used Brighten  .
Added a new layer on top of the dark background layer. First picked blue as one colour and Transparent as the other "colour" (if we can call Transparent as colour at all!), use gradient to fill that layer with both colours. Set Opacity vaule of that new layer to 146.
Duplicated the circles layer, Flip Vertical and Horizontal with the duplicated new circles layer.
Twist the original layer; Polar Inversion on the lower layer
Glow on first layer, the lower layer TwistZ with Zoom + make the layer blending mode to screen for (so the glow effect is not that obvious as the first layer?)
Wrong move by changing background colour... but I was thinking why not? So I continued to mess around by adding another new layer of purple circles. And then I selected Outline Object on the top swirl layer. Adjust colours on lower layer to turn it into a "washed out" look.
Purple circles layer moved downwards to sit between the 2 main layers, then turned its blending mode into Screen. Remember the Blue+Transparent layer? I've then used Tiles Reflection XY to the said layer.

Have to say I was pretty disappointed because seems like I've made an ugly Olympic (sort of)  logo .

Then a spark appeared out of no where - why not turn the whole colour theme into Sepia? The last step is Colour Balance+
I love the final result!

While I am 75% certian believing I can re-create the bubbles in similar manner, but I haven't try yet, maybe leave this for another day :)

The sad thing for today is that I heard the sad news EA once again banned Alexurt (for second time) and some more Sims 3 players. And it's again EA banned them without investigating enough on the situation before they made the final banning actions. My two thumbs down for you EA.

Till next time, bye bye for now
